The PGA of America announced today a three-year extension with Chief Executive Officer Pete Bevacqua that will last through December 2021.
Bevacqua, who has served as CEO since November 2012, came to the PGA of America after spending 11 years with the USGA. His contract was set to expire in November 2018.
“Pete is an exceptional leader who has made a major impact as CEO,” said Derek Sprague, President of the PGA of America, in a press release. “He created a bold vision for the PGA with the long-term strategic plan we are now implementing.”
Bevacqua said his long-term plan with the PGA of America will continue to be growing the game.
“It is a great honor to continue in this role with the PGA of America,” he said. “I’m grateful to the members of the board for their ongoing support and for the confidence they’ve placed in me. I cherish the opportunity to represent the 28,000 men and women PGA professionals and remain determined to serve them and help them grow our great game.”
